Bennington, Douglas County
A small town with a lot of new neighbors
Bennington is in the northwest corner of Douglas County. The original town is small and older; the subdivisions that have grown up around it and toward Omaha are recent, many of them built around lakes and open ground.
That leaves two kinds of plumbing a short drive apart, and each has its usual problems.
Old town, new town
In the original town
Older houses mean older drain and sewer lines. Roots, corrosion and worn joints are the things a camera goes looking for.
In the new subdivisions
Lines that have settled after building, or kitchen lines coated with grease, are more likely than a broken pipe.
Low spots and floor drains
A basement floor drain is where a blocked main line shows itself first. If water is standing around it, call before it spreads.

My basement flooded after hours and I called Bill who came out quickly. He did what he could & confirmed the real issue was the city’s sewer was backed up which caused our basement to flood.
Bill said we needed to call the city and was 100% correct. The city came out had to drain/snake the manholes in our neighborhood and Bill stayed with us until the City arrived and helped explain our issue! Bill knew exactly what to do and what needed to be done and even followed up with us the next day to confirm our issue was resolved. He also gave helpful tips to us when dealing with the City. I HIGHLY recommend Bill because he is truly an expert in the work he does!

Questions
Good to know
Why does a brand new subdivision have sewer calls at all?
Construction debris in the line and sections laid at the wrong slope account for most of them. Both are installation issues rather than wear, and both tend to appear in the first few years. The remainder is wipes.
My basement has an ejector pit. What is that and does it clog?
Below-grade bathrooms and laundry sit lower than the sewer line, so an ejector pump lifts waste up to where gravity takes over. The pits collect anything that does not break down, and a failed or clogged ejector backs up into the lowest fixture quickly. They need occasional attention rather than none.
Ground around my new build is still settling. Should I worry about the sewer?
Worth being alert to rather than worried about. Settlement over a backfilled trench can introduce a low spot that holds waste, which shows up as a line that clogs in the same place repeatedly. One camera run tells you whether the grade held.
Is a sewer scope worth it on a house only a few years old?
Yes, particularly if you are buying and particularly before a builder warranty window closes. Buyers assume new means sound, and most of the defects we find in young lines were there from the day the pipe went in.
How long does it take you to get to Bennington?
Longer than the inner metro and still well within reach, any hour of the day. Call when it happens rather than waiting for morning if sewage is surfacing.
Water backing up? Call any hour. We answer.
