Sewer camera inspection

Sewer camera inspection in Omaha

A small waterproof camera on a flexible cable shows what’s inside your line: cracks, leaks, blockages or tree roots. We find the problem without digging, and the inspection is recorded for you.

Look before anyone digs

Video inspections let us see the condition of your sewer line without digging up the yard or cutting into walls. Knowing the exact location and cause of a problem up front means a targeted repair instead of guesswork, and no paying for work the line doesn’t need.

  • Precise: cracks, leaks and blockages seen clearly
  • Non-invasive: less mess and less damage to your property
  • Cost-effective: the exact location, found first
  • Documented: a record for insurance, a sale, or later work

How it works

How a camera inspection works

  1. In the line

A small waterproof camera with high-resolution lenses and LED lights goes into your plumbing on a flexible cable.

  2. Live on the monitor

As it moves through the pipe it sends a live picture to a monitor, so cracks, leaks, blockages and roots show up as we find them.

  3. Recorded

The inspection is recorded, so the findings can be reviewed and you have a record of your line’s condition.

Know the signs

When a camera inspection makes sense

  • Problems that keep coming back

Slow drains, backups or odors that return point to something bigger in the line.

  • An older home

Clay and cast-iron pipes wear, corrode and crack with age.

  • Buying a home

See the sewer line before you close, not after you move in.

  • Remodeling

Check the plumbing before construction starts.

  • Routine maintenance

Catch small problems early and extend the life of the line.

Questions

Good to know

I am buying a house. Is a sewer scope really necessary?

A standard home inspection does not include the sewer line, and the sewer line is often the single most expensive thing that can fail in an older home. In neighborhoods built before the 1960s, clay tile and cast iron laterals are common and a scope is cheap insurance. Finding a collapse before closing is leverage. Finding it after is a bill.

What can a camera actually see, and what can it miss?

It shows cracks, offsets, root intrusion, bellies holding water, scale build-up, and the pipe material. It cannot see through standing water or heavy sludge, which is why a line sometimes needs cleaning before it can be inspected properly. It also cannot tell you depth on its own without a locator.

Do I get the footage?

You should, and you should ask before you book. Recorded video with the problem located by distance is what you hand to a contractor, a seller, or an insurer. A verbal report with no recording is impossible to check and impossible to use in a negotiation.

The camera found a belly in the line. How urgent is that?

A belly is a low spot where water and solids sit instead of flowing through. Shallow ones can be managed with periodic cleaning for years. Deep ones keep collecting waste until the line blocks, and they tend to get worse as the ground settles. The depth of the sag and how much of the pipe diameter it eats are what decide whether you repair now or watch it.

Can you tell me exactly where to dig?

Yes. A locator picks up the camera head through the ground and marks the spot on the surface along with the depth, which is how a repair gets confined to one section instead of a trench across your yard. Knowing it sits at 11 feet under the driveway rather than 6 feet in the lawn also changes the price considerably.
