Fremont, Dodge County

A city of its own, with a historic center

Fremont is the seat of Dodge County, out past the Elkhorn toward the Platte River. It is a full-sized city in its own right, with a historic downtown, long-established neighborhoods and newer houses at its edges.

It is one of the further towns we cover, so it helps to call early. Tell us what the drain is doing and we will tell you what it is likely to need.

Common problems in Fremont houses

  • Sewer lines in the older neighborhoods

Years of roots and build-up narrow a line until a backup forces the issue. Cleaning and a camera inspection go together here.

  • Floor drains on low ground

Near the river the ground is flat and low. A clear floor drain and main line matter when water needs somewhere to go.

  • Water heaters and fixtures

We also install water heaters, toilets and faucets, and can tell you whether an old heater is worth repairing.

How we work

High quality, low cost. Fair and square.

  • No hidden fees

Straightforward, honest pricing. You won’t find hidden fees or charges on the bill.

  • We look before we dig

A camera inspection shows exactly where the problem is, so you pay for the repair the line needs, not a guess.

  • Fixed, then kept that way

Most companies fix the problem and leave. We clear it, then show you how to stop it coming back.

Timely service done right. Servicer was very courteous and professional. Our sink was clogged and he came in and took very good care of the issue. Was very thorough through out the whole process. Afterwards he cleaned everything up. Highly recommended for sure and is as the name goes Affordable. I really do appreciate the help for sure. Thank you so much

Questions

Good to know

Our area has flooded before. Does that affect buried pipe?

It can. Prolonged saturation shifts soil, opens joints, and lets silt into any line already cracked, which then builds up faster than ordinary waste. Homes that saw water in past flooding are good candidates for a camera run, especially if drains have behaved differently since.

How do I tell flood water from a sewer backup in my basement?

Clear water with no odor, arriving with heavy rain, usually means groundwater or storm infiltration. Dark water with a smell means sanitary backup and needs to be treated as a contamination issue. The clean-up and the fix are different for each.

Do you travel to Fremont for emergencies?

Yes, any hour. The drive is longer than the metro, and we would rather give you an honest arrival time than a comfortable one.

Does a high water table cause clogs?

Not directly, and it accelerates the deterioration of pipe that is already compromised and keeps sump systems working hard. The clogs themselves still come down to roots, grease, and wipes in nearly every case.

Is it worth jetting a line that took on silt?

Usually yes, since silt and sand coat the pipe in a way a cable barely touches. Jetting washes it out and restores the full diameter. Camera it afterward, because silt getting in means there is an opening somewhere that let it in.

“We called Bill at Affordable Plumbing at 11 pm thinking we would leave a message, but to our surprise he answered the phone.”
