We needed a new toilet put in on short notice and Bill was a life saver. He came out the next day and installed the toilet and took our old one. Bill was professional and efficient! Thank you again Bill for helping you! We will reach out if we have anymore issues.

Questions

Good to know

Why would a drain company handle installs?

Because most installs eventually become drain problems. A water heater set without proper drainage, a disposal wired to an undersized line, or a toilet seated on a bad flange all come back as a service call. Someone who spends their days opening failed lines tends to install with that in mind.

Is it worth adding a clean-out if my house does not have one?

For an older home with no accessible clean-out, yes, and it is one of the better pieces of money you can spend on a house. Without one, every future cleaning means pulling a toilet or working through a roof vent, which adds labor to every single call. With one, the next person can be in and out.

Tankless water heater or a standard tank?

Tankless saves space and does not run out, but it costs more up front, often needs gas line and venting changes, and needs descaling on a schedule in hard water. A tank is cheaper to install and simpler to live with. The honest answer depends on your household size, your gas supply, and how long you plan to stay.

Do I need a permit for what I am asking about?

Water heaters, gas work, new fixtures on new lines, and sewer work generally do. Swapping a faucet generally does not. Requirements differ between Omaha and the surrounding towns, and skipping a permit tends to surface at resale rather than at installation.
